Blessed Elder Gabriel reposed in 1983 in great old age having been born in 1886. For forty years he was Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Dionysiou on Mt. Athos. This is his life, that of "the abbot of abbots of the twentieth century... a great man of Greece and of the Orthodox Faith."
