SONG OF THE TALANTON

An excellant introduction for very young children (ages 3 & 4) to monastic life as found in the Orthodox tradition. Sophia, a young pilgrim to a convent, wakes to see the sun rise and joins with the nuns in their first service of daily prayer. Beautifully written and illustrated, the book is accompanied by an audio CD where the author reads the story, the Talanton can be heard sounding the call to prayer and a selection of hymns by Eikona is included. There is also a description of how to make a simple talanton to draw children in further.
