ON THE CHURCH: SELECT LETTERS
St. Cyprian, the third century Bishop of Carthage in North Africa, is most widely known for articulating a clear view of the nature of the Church. The views he expressed went largely unquestioned up until the time of the Reformation in the sixteenth century. The translations of his works, with introduction and notes presented here are largely the fruit of a continuing research project begun at the British School in Rome in 1999. They are the work of Allen Brent, Professor of Early Christian History and Literature at St. Edmund`s College,Cambridge.
