Lorenzo Warriner was an American Protestant sent as a missionary to Cyprus in 1834. He dies five years later in 1839. During this period of almost five years he traveled extensively throughout modern day Cyprus,Greece, Lebanon, Syria,Jordan and Israel/Palestine. Whilst seen through the lens of his own particular cultural and spiritual heritage his journals provide a unique glimpse of the religious and cultural life of the areas visited where Orthodox Christianity was an important element.
