ON THE APOSTOLIC PREACHING

This work is newly translated from the ancient Armenian and is the only extant work of St. Irenaeus other than Against Heresies. He wrote at a time when people were drawing on elements from various religions and diverse gods (not unlike today); he encourages the reader to hold fast to Scripture and recounts the history of the work of God. St. Irenaeus had direct contact with the immediate successors of the apostles and is the most important theologian of the second century.
